🎃Time to get your pumpkins!!!🎃 We are happy to report that we still have some gorgeous U-Pick pumpkins available! Don’t miss your chance to pick your own pumpkin from our pumpkin fields (we are one of the only farms around that offers this unique experience)! ⏰We are adding extra u-pick times this weekend. U-pick hayrides will run every 45 minutes starting at 11am on Saturday and every 45 minutes starting at 1pm on Sunday. 🎟How does u-pick work? In order to pick your own pumpkin at our farm, you will need a u-pick hayride ticket. These are ONLY available for sale at our ticket counter. The cost is $11 per person and includes your hayride to the pumpkin patch as well as the pumpkin that you pick. If you have family members riding along who aren’t picking a pumpkin, they pay just $5. 🚜You can also upgrade the hayride in your Fun Pass to a u-pick hayride for just $6 per pumpkin. The children will board the barrel train (aka The Candy Express) and our staff will hand out candy and treats at various stops around the farm. Wear your costumes! This week’s *ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK* is our U-Pick Pumpkin Hayride! For this activity you get to take a tractor-drawn hayride through our 250 acre farm, get off the wagon at the pumpkin patch, and pick your very own pumpkin! Important: U-Pick Hayrides only run Saturdays at 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm, 3:30pm, and 5pm AND Sundays at 1pm, 2:30pm, and 4pm. Tickets must be purchased at the ticket counter. This is *while supplies last*. We did have a drought this summer which impacted our pumpkin crop. Once the u-pick pumpkins are gone, they’re gone! We recommend coming no later than the second weekend in October if you are wanting to u-pick. After that date, check with us for availability updates. U-Pick Hayrides are $11 per person which includes your hayride and a pumpkin you pick from the field. This cute restaurant has 10 different food vendors and live music every weekend. We hope to go back for a date night sometime! ❤️ Special props to Matt for the “E” idea. IMPORTANT: If you’re wanting to visit our sunflower field this fall, *this weekend* is your best opportunity. Our first field is in FULL bloom now (and absolutely stunning!!!), but we are not sure how they will look by the next weekend. While we do have other fields that will bloom later, this one is BY FAR the prettiest Here’s how to see the sunflowers......all you need is a $6 Corn Maze ticket to visit the sunflower field! It includes: 🌻Access to the sunflower field. 🌻Access to the zinnia field. 🌻Access to the 4 Acre Corn Maze. 🌻2 U-Pick Sunflowers 🌻5 U-Pick Zinnias Tip: If you’re wanting to do a bunch of other fall activities while you’re here, we recommend getting the $22 Fun Pass since it includes the corn maze ticket along with lots of other fall fun. 📸Photographers are welcome! It’s such a HAPPY DAY! Our 🟢Paintball Shooting: Groundhog Invasion🟢 addition is finally complete! We are thrilled to reveal this new attraction located at our pumpkin farm in Dry Ridge, KY. 📖The pumpkin patch is under siege! A sneaky band of groundhogs has taken over the farm—holed up in the cabin, the outhouse, even the clothesline. It’s up to *you* to help Farmer Matt blast ‘em back underground (with paintballs, of course). Lock and load. Aim true. Save the squash! We began this addition all the way back in March of this year. Matt did an amazing job building this structure to house our 10 paintball guns which are mounted for safety. Over the months we have worked on creating a field of awesome targets for you to shoot paintballs at. This is a blast for preschoolers all the way up to grandparents. In the midst of all the set up, we also had to irrigate pumpkins the last few days. That wasn’t necessarily on our bingo card for the week, but it needed to be done to help save our pumpkin crop! Since we don’t do it often, it’s actually a huge ordeal dragging out all the irrigation pipe, moving it from field to field, and fighting with a pump that doesn’t want to work all the time. 😂

This week, it’s all about our *hayride*! 🚜 We’re not just talking any old hayride, folks. Oh no, we’re leveling up! 💥 We’ve got a brand new audio system that’ll give you fun facts about our farm, crops, and animals while you’re cruisin’ through our scenic farm. Don’t worry, we won’t put you to sleep with a boring lecture 😴. It will be fun, short, and sweet!! 😊 On Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll have two hayride options: our regular 20-minute ride or our U-Pick Pumpkin Hayrides (which will run at set times, so stay tuned for those details). We’ve got a pumpkin and sunflower update for you this morning! 🎃 The pumpkins are coming right along! We found some nice Cinderella pumpkins in the field the other night that are already orange. We’ve also planted lots of jack-o-lanterns, pie pumpkins, minis, gourds, and white pumpkins! 🌻Our first planting of sunflowers is looking really great again this year! They are about two feet tall and have buds starting to form. We are hoping they will be in bloom for our opening day September 6th (and not too long before!). Here’s what we’ve been up to last week! We’re at the point where every day is packed full of Country Pumpkins prep! Sometimes is visible progress like setting up new attractions, and sometimes it’s behind the scenes work like scheduling field trips and designing flyers. So much to do to make it all come together! ✅ We’ve come a long way on setting up our new paintball attraction. It’s looking AMAZING! Thank you to our email subscribers who helped us out on our paintball poll last week. You guys are awesome! As you scroll through the photos you’ll see a new outhouse target that Matt built, mounting the paintball guns, and setting up targets. There are some cool reveals in the photos you don’t want to miss! ✅ Our daughter, Caroline, of @carolinescreationsslime is making the soy candles and wax melts for our gift shop this fall!! She’s been busy building up her inventory after many months of research and testing. We are so excited to share her amazing candles with you! ✅ Shelley finished the Jack-o-lantern grain bin and even added a message on the side. After thinking that project was done weeks ago, we decided to take the orange paint all the way around and add the message. ✅ Our sunflowers are looking fantastic so far. We hope they will be in bloom by opening day (and not too long before that! 🤣) ⏰Opening day is 26 days away!

We had a productive weekend working on fall set up. 🥳 Scroll on through the photos to see what we’ve been up to! ✅ See that cute little building? Matt found that on Facebook Marketplace! It will be part of the targets for our NEW paintball shooting gallery. This is exactly the look we were going for. You’ll really see that new attraction coming together over the next couple weeks. ✅ The little building needed a good pressure wash. Next, we’ll put a wood sealant on it. ✅ Remember the tires we got from a friend last week? Matt painted those in preparation for turning them into a cool photo spot! ✅ While he had his handy dandy paint sprayer out, we also got a fresh coat of paint on the old shed by Chunkin’ Pumpkin. ✅ Shelley finished the sunflower grain bin painting! ✅ We got the little building moved into place. Not easy 😳 but we made it! ✅ Take a look at the photos to see what we found in the pumpkin patch this weekend! ✅ Caught a couple rule-breakers in another new photo spot…… 🤣

Yesterday we enjoyed the morning at the Grant County Fair dairy cattle show! It’s an annual tradition for us. Fun fact: Our family has been raising and showing Brown Swiss dairy cows since 1947! Love cows?! Come see us on Got Milk Day (Sept 20th from 11am -2pm) for free cow milking demonstrations and calf bottle feeding. These Brown Swiss beauties are also the stars of our school field trips and Homeschool Days. ❤️

It’s been a while since we’ve given a pumpkin update! The plants are looking good and starting to bloom. We got several inches of much-needed rain in the last week which has helped them a lot. We are back home from an incredible farm tour in the Toronto area! We visited 7 farms over 2 days. WOW! These farmers are all doing a spectacular job. We learned so much, ate so many delicious treats, and had so much fun! We are always looking for new ways we can grow our farm and make it better. So thankful we were able to take this trip.
